About the episode

The episode started with Amy establishing the importance of home organization and some of the common misconceptions about it. Amy also clarified that to tailor a bedroom, it actually means that we need to understand how the user actually behaves or need from the space. Also, it is worth taking note that organizing a bedroom for an adult will be significantly different with that for a child — a quick tip: make it in a way so they see everything without having to pull anything out.

Amy also left us with some suggestions on how to organize a closet. One of them is called the reverse coat hanger hack. You start by turning all the clothes that are on your hanger backward. At the end of a set period, anything that is still on your hanger backward means that you haven’t worn that clothes on that period, therefore safe to assume that you don’t need that clothes.

In conclusion

When it comes to organizing, Amy recommend that less is more. It’s not necessarily endorsing a minimalist lifestyle. But it’s more about ensuring fulfillment of the actual needs of that certain individual. If you would like to learn more organizing hacks, give the podcast a listen.
