Dr. Matthew Shupler is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard Chan School of Public Health, where he is conducting research on the effects of air pollution exposure on adverse pregnancy outcomes.
He completed his PhD in Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. During his PhD and employment as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Public Health, Policy & Systems at the University of Liverpool.
Dr. Matt spent the last decade conducting household air pollution research in over a dozen countries across sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and South America. Dr. Matt has also worked as a Global Health Fellow at the United Nations Foundation (Clean Cooking Alliance).
He has authored publications on the effects of access to clean household energy on household air pollution exposure and climate change. BBC World News interviewed him and partnered with the World Health Organization to disseminate research on the health effects of household air pollution exposure.
